Aspy Unwalla 1964-1971
Aspy, well need One say any more after the pictures to your right and left. His family has a long connection with Cottons, but he was one of the most irrepressible Unwalla yet in Cottons history. He was captain for the cricket team (I think), anyway he should have been. No teacher through whose class Aspy has been, will fail to remember him.
In his own words :
"I am married to Perin, the younger sister of 'Boozo' Nariman, the big fella, who spent just one year in Cottons (did his ISC in 1970). She was also in Cottons Girls' school. We have three sons - Burzin-aged 23, Sheriyar-aged 21 and Shiamak-aged 10 (he was an 'Oops!' baby!). We all live in Ahmedabad (except Sheriyar, who's doing his PGDBM at 'XIME', Bangalore). I am a 'Telecom Service Provider' (not yet in the Dhirubhai Ambani class, though!!), who supplements his income selling Life Insurance. Life has been good to me, as my recent photograph would indicate."
"I do remember my school days very fondly. It was wonderful meeting some of the guys - Ramu, Girish, CN, Sashi, Suchi, Sumo and you - in June, 2001. The guys I remember vividly, but have'nt met in 30 years are Jal Irani,Chitrajeet, Nandan, P.Vijay, Ravi Mazumdar, Prakash Kuruvilla, Samir Sahay,Paranjpe, Thomas & Edwin Trencher, BD Ashok, Mark Rebello, KM Harish,Faheem, Brian Norton, Chock Tsering, Naresh Hindocha, Mahesh Majithya,Sudarshan, Prakash Chatlani, etc. Hopefully, some day, some where, we'll meet again. Till then, take care, guys.
All the best!
Aspy"
